When Every Gram Counts – the Tiger Wall UL1 Bikepack

The Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL1 Bikepack was designed for everyone who wants to optimize every gram of their gear. Thanks to its semi-freestanding construction, it is one of the lightest bikepacking tents in its class while still offering enough comfort for demanding adventures.

With a self-measured total weight of just 1,140 grams, the Tiger Wall UL1 is ideal for bikepackers who prefer an ultralight and compact setup. The new HyperBead material improves waterproofness and ensures excellent durability while keeping the overall weight low.

What Does Semi-Freestanding Mean?

Unlike the fully freestanding Copper Spur, the Tiger Wall uses a semi-freestanding construction. This saves weight by requiring less pole structure. However, the foot end must be secured with stakes for the complete setup. Only then is the full interior space achieved.

In practice, this is not a problem on most campsites, meadows or natural camping spots. At the same time, the Tiger Wall benefits from a noticeable weight advantage compared to comparable freestanding tents. Anyone looking for an especially lightweight bikepacking setup and who mostly camps on surfaces where stakes can be easily placed will quickly appreciate the benefits of the semi-freestanding design.

The Tiger Wall also features so-called Wheelie Stake Out Loops. These allow you to use your bicycle as an additional guy point when needed – a practical detail for rocky terrain or difficult pitching locations.
