Revelate Designs Terrapin 14L Saddle Bag System with Dry Bag

The Terrapin 14L — named after the turtle — is a modular, fully waterproof saddle bag system consisting of a holster and a removable dry bag. The third generation of the Terrapin has been completely redesigned by Revelate Designs, significantly improving stability, usability, and long-term durability.
The Terrapin 14L features the Indie-Rail mounting system, securely lashing the sides of the bag directly to the saddle rails. This eliminates lateral sway. New design features include a molded plastic shell that protects the bottom of the dry bag like a mini mudguard. The holster is stiffened on all sides, creating a solid platform for all strap anchor points and efficiently transferring vertical load onto the saddle rails. An elastic cord system on top adds extra capacity for securing additional gear.

Important Notes:
- Requires at least 12.7 cm (5 in) of free seatpost length. Not designed for use with dropper seatposts.
- Minimum clearance between saddle rails and tire is 21.6 cm (8.5 in). On full-suspension bikes, verify this clearance at full compression.
- NOT compatible with the Spocket accessory bag

Prima Tasche sobald montiert
Pro: Super sicherer Sitz ohne Bewegung. Bei geringer Beladung lässt sich der Packsack einfach in den Holster einrollen. Die Farbe Crush Purple sieht scharf aus an meinem Bike. Nachteil: Schwierig auf meinem Sattel zu installieren. Die Innengurte reichen kaum bis zu den Schienen, sodass die Schnalle am Außengurt auf den Schienen aufliegt. Ich hatte gehofft, dass ich die Tasche zwischen meinen Fahrrädern hin- und her wechseln könnte, aber das wird nix. Ich Nachinein wünschte ich, ich hätte das Spinelock-System gekauft, aber es gab es nicht in Lila.

Gut durchdachte Lösung
Ich fange gerade erst mit Bikepacking an, aber die erste Reise verlief großartig. Viel Platz, gut gesichert. Ich konnte (natürlich) das zusätzliche Gewicht bei Anstiegen oder wenn man mal aus dem Sattel geht spüren, aber es störte nie. Eine Sache, die ich noch lieben würde, wäre eine Schulterschlinge für den Packsack, damit man ihn leichter tragen kann, nachdem man ihn herausgezogen hat.

Grandiose Tasche
Tolle Größe und ich liebe das Entnahme System! Der einzige Vorschlag wäre, dass sich die Clips einfacher an den Sattelstreben befestigen lassen. Wenn die Schlaufen 1cm länger wären hätte man nur halb so viel Gefummel.

Vielseitig und stabil
Die Terrapin ist meiner Meinung nach eine der besten Taschen am Markt. Ich nutze die Tasche auch für Tagestouren mit kleinem Gepäck. Der Packsack lässt sich so klein einrollen, dass ich keine andere Satteltasche mehr brauche. Be- und Entladen geht mit dem System super easy. Die Tasche bleibt auch im Wiegetritt stabil am Sattel. Einziges Manko ist das Gewicht. Der Preis ist bei der guten Qualität gerechtfertigt.
