- This Alternator plate set works with all Salsa frames compatible with Alternator 1.0 and 2.0, allowing the use of SRAM Full Mount derailleurs or SRAM UDH.
- Positions the wheel in the rearmost Alternator plate position (17 mm back).
- Native compatibility with 140 mm flat-mount disc brakes.
Choose the correct axle!
When installing, ensure that the axle is UDH-compatible.
This set requires a 12 mm thru-axle with 1.0 mm thread pitch (1.0TP) and a SRAM UDH or SRAM Full Mount derailleur (both not included).
In addition to the correct axle length – for example, 12x175 mm on the Salsa Fargo – the thread pitch must also match exactly. For UDH, the thread pitch is 1.0 mm.
Below is an overview of compatible axles for different hubs:
- 142 mm hubs: 171 mm length / M12 x 1.0 TP / min. 14 mm thread length
- 148 mm hubs: 175 mm length / M12 x 1.0 TP / min. 14 mm thread length
Scope of Delivery:
- 1 x Salsa Alternator with Flat Mount brake interface
- 1 x Salsa Alternator with UDH interface
- The kit includes 2 upper mounting bolts for the non-drive side, with the longer bolt intended for carbon and aluminum frames and the shorter one for steel and titanium frames. It also includes a locknut that replaces the IS brake adapter to secure the plate. All other mounting hardware is reused from the current plates or can be purchased in the Alternator 1.0 or Alternator 2.0 hardware kit.
Brake Mounting Note
Frame thickness is critical when mounting Salsa UDH Alternator plates. Salsa reduced the frame thickness for the rear brake mount from 35 mm to 30 mm. Therefore, different bolts are required to mount the brake caliper compared to the standard Alternator plates.For Shimano brakes:
- Frame thickness 30 mm → C bolt 43 mm (Y8PU08030)
- Frame thickness 30 mm → C2 bolt 39 mm (Y2HW08030)
