The Old Man Mountain Elkhorn Rack is one of the most versatile racks on the market! It can be mounted on full-suspension mountain bikes, gravel bikes, road bikes, fatbikes, and even tri-bikes.

Solides Rack, was aber nicht unbedingt an jedes Fahrrad passt
Das Rack ist so, wie ich es mir vorgestellt habe und gefällt mir gut. Ich würde es gerne hinten an der Steckachse installieren, weil mir das voll beladen einfach lieber wäre, muss aber leider sagen, dass diese Lösung mir in meinem Fall nicht so gut gefallen hat. Bei einer Achsenlänge von 172 mm musste ich die beiden Träger des Racks sehr zur Mitte biegen, damit ich das Deck überhaupt installieren konnte. Bei der längeren (29") Version mag dieser Effekt weniger stark ausfallen, aber es werden auch Achsen mit einer Länge bis zu 198 mm verkauft, und da muss man das Rack in meinen Augen dann schon sehr biegen. Das Material hält das bestimmt aus, aber es gefällt mir auch optisch einfach nicht und leider stört mich die lange Achse mit dem Rack bei meinem Rad mit sehr kurzen Kettenstreben und langen Füßen etwas beim Pedalieren. Mit der Installation an Rahmenösen bin ich wesentlich glücklicher, da diese insgesamt schmaler ausfällt. Bei einem Stahlrahmen wird das schon gehen. Der Service und die Beratung hier waren super!

Super Modularer Gepäckträger
Habe schon jenseits der 1000€ bei Bike-Packing.de gelassen. Das Elkhorn-Rack habe ich mir schon zum zweiten mal gekauft. Super praktisch und passt an wirklich jedes Bike (eins am Gravel und eins am 29"+ MTB). Es kann überall etwas montiert werden und falls es nicht sofort passt bietet der Gepäckträger genug Möglichkeiten ihn anzupassen.

Der Gepäckträger ist super, ein deutlicher Hinweis auf die notwendige Extrabestellung der Halter für Gabeln ohne Befestigungspunkte wäre hilfreich gewesen. Da die Halter auf einer Abbildung in der Produktbeschreibung zu sehen sind, schien es so als würden sie mitgeliefert.

It’s what i have being looking for…
It’s what i have being looking for since i started bike holidays on my race/road bike. This bike wasn’t made for bike packing.
After buying a (cheap but very good from amazone) rear rack, I wanted a front rack but this was hard to get for an QR 9x100. Until now.
A rear and a front rack makes it possible to divide the weight equally over the bike.

Toller Gepäckträger ...
... und einer der wenigen, die ich gesehen habe, der vorne oder hinten angebracht werden können. Das sorgt für einen tollen und einheitlichen Look am Bike. Da meine Gabel keine Gewinde hat war das für mich auch die optimale Lösungund noch Flaschenhalter seitlich zu montieren. Ich hatte mir noch ein paar andere "T" Gepäckträger, wie den von Tumbleweed, angesehen und bin mit meiner Wahl sehr zufrieden.
